FINC 740 - Financial Markets and Institutions

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisites: MBA Essentials (GBUS 702  and GBUS 703 ).
This course provides an introduction to the financial markets (entities that sell stocks, bonds and foreign currencies) and the key financial insititutions (banks, insurance companies, mutual funds, government entities etc.). Financial markets play a critical role in the efficient functioning of the market economy. The financial insititutions are the organizations that allow the financial markets to function properly. This course teaches the fundamental ideas that govern interaction of these markets and related insititutions.
