APHI 608 - History of Visual Culture

Credit Hours: 3

This course focuses on how the visual products of a culture relate to historical circumstances. Students will also learn how art and architecture provide a window into the social identities, philosophical concepts, and the religious and societal values of the cultures that produce it. In addition, the course will teach the skills of visual analysis and interpretation to provide the necessary tools for navigating and interpreting the visual representations of art and architecture.
