CSCI 562 - Computer Networks and the Internet Credit Hours: 3
This is a three (3) unit graduate course for teachers in STEM education with no previous background in computer science. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to computer networks and the Internet. It covers the fundamental principles of networking, including network architecture, Internet protocols, data transmission, security, cloud computing, and emerging technologies such as IoT and AI-driven networking. Participants will gain hands-on experience with real-world tools and simulations, allowing them to understand networking infrastructure, monitor network performance, and analyze cybersecurity threats. The course also explores the ethical and social implications of Internet governance, privacy, and digital access.
