CSCI 564 - Introduction to Data Analytics

Credit Hours: 3

This is a three (3) unit graduate course for teachers in STEM education with no previous background in computer science. This course introduces data concepts and analytical techniques using Python and SQL. Participants will learn data collection, storage, preprocessing, analysis, and visualization, developing practical skills to work with real-world datasets. The course covers Python libraries such as pandas, numpy, and matplotlib, alongside SQL for database querying and management. Through hands-on activities and case studies, participants will explore data wrangling, descriptive statistics, data visualization, and ethical considerations in data analysis.
