CSCI 301 - Cybercrime

Credit Hours: 3

This course introduces students to one of the first principles in cybersecurity: to think like your adversary. In this course, students will learn about the difference between computer crimes and cybercrimes and the different offenses included within those two categories. In those conversations, students will also learn about broad patterns, as underscored in cybercriminology research, of risk factors affecting engagement and victimization within these events. Finally, students will begin exploring systemic responses to cybercrime via the criminal-legal system, the educational system, and private businesses. This course is designed for students of all majors and technical abilities.
