CSCI 331 - Cyberinvestigations Credit Hours: 3
This course provides a broad overview of cybercrime investigations, from onset to resolution, within the criminal-legal system and within private businesses by cybersecurity officers. While discussing best practices for seizing, securing, and assessing the weight of digital evidence is part of that prior conversation, this is not a digital forensics course as investigations are broader than that area. Thus, no prior technical expertise is required to be successful in this course. Aside from discussing digital evidence, students will also learn about professional challenges confronting cybersecurity officers and law enforcement when confronting violations in their respective spaces of responsibility, such as misuse of artificial intelligence, encryption, incrimination, and search and seizure.
