Strength and Conditioning Minor

Objectives

Provide students with a foundation of knowledge for the coaching, design, and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for athletic populations. This minor is designed complement students’ preparation for strength and conditioning certification. Students are granted the opportunity to explore related topics in health and human performance relevant to strength and conditioning professions.

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills to be Achieved

  1. Students will develop knowledge and skills related to the instruction and evaluation ofperformance of strength and conditioning exercises including physiological andbiomechanical demands
  2. Students will evaluate biomechanical and physiological demands of athletic physicalactivities to be applied to the development of long-term strength and conditioningprograms

Structure of the Minor


Students must complete the following three (3) required courses and two (2) courses from the approved electives (minimum of 15 total credit-hours).
