CIVL 731 - Geo Environmental Engineering


Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisite: CIVL 409, 402, 322 and 408 or permission from Department Head
Geo-environmental engineering is a multi-disciplinary area of study that involves various aspects of geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, hydraulics/hydrology, and groundwater engineering. The course focuses on the following 2 specific technical issues: (1) characterization and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater; (2) design of waste containment barriers (e.g., liners, covers, vertical barriers) used for waste remediation.
