Business Administration Minor

Objectives

The minor in Business Administration is designed to allow students to explore four main components of business through the study of economic principles, accounting principles, marketing principles, and human resource leadership for the purpose of optimizing business performance and organizational value.

Competencies, Knowledge, or Skills to be Achieved

By completing the minor, students will:

  • define and discuss micro- and macro-economic concepts used to describe firm-level economic indicators and global economic indicators (ECON 205 )
  • define and discuss financial- and managerial- accounting information systems used to determine income, financial position, product/service costs, break-even point, and budgeting processes. (ACCT 205 )
  • develop the business knowledge, skills and leadership to attract, serve and retain the right customers. (MKTG 301 )
  • develop the business knowledge, skills and leadership to attract, develop and retain the right employees. (MGMT 303 )

This minor is not approved for students majoring in accounting, business administration, finance, management, marketing & business development, or supply chain management.

Structure of the Minor:

*** May substitute ECON 201  for this requirement
