CIVL 302 - Highway Engineering

Corequisite: CIVL 327

Highway alignment, right-of-way and easements; earthwork and grading; road user benefits, traffic operations and capacity; design of intersections and interchanges; construction surveys; drainage design; highway materials; design of asphalt mixtures; pavement thickness design; and construction management, contracts, estimates and specifications. Preparation of plans and design documentation for a highway project including: horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, roadway cross-sections, storm water drainage, earthwork and mass diagram calculations, and construction materials.

Requirements/Required: Required of all Civil Engineering juniors.
