CHEM 331 - Academic Leadership in STEM

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisites: CHEM 152  / CHEM 162  or CHEM 164  
A practicum in effective peer mentoring.  Academic Leadership in STEM will focus on developing students to be effective peer mentors who will assist general chemistry students with concepts and problem solving in a small group environment. This course will foster the development of effective leadership skills (e.g., communication and team-building) in the peer mentors. Additionally, through leading general chemistry students in small group problem solving sessions, the peer mentors will deepen their own understanding of chemistry concepts. This course satisfies the ROTC fulfillment requirement.
