The object of the Management major is to prepare students with the management competencies, technology skills, and quantitative knowledge required for a wide range of career options in private and public sector organizations. The program uses the most up-to-date information and research in the management field to create sound foundation for students’ career development in the numerous rapidly evolving, global industries. Students graduate from this program with a robust understanding of the value of free enterprise, ethical business practices, business analytics, strong communication skills, small-and-medium business development, innovative initiatives, and competitive strategies.
The Management major consists of 24 credit hours (five required courses; three elective courses) designed to contribute to a unique perspective of management and entrepreneurship. Required courses in the major will build and contribute to a logical career path. The Management major also includes three business elective courses. General elective courses can be within any subject area, must be at least three credit hours , must be an academic course (cannot be an ROTC course), and cannot already be required or fulfill another degree requirement. Students majoring in management must also complete required the core business courses and achieve a grade of “C” or higher in each course.
