Objectives:
Machine learning is emerging as today’s fastest-growing job as the role of automation and AI expands in every industry and function. AI & ML techniques are now used in many application areas including natural language processing, speech, vision, robotics, and computational biology. The Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning minor gives students a grounding in the fundamental concepts underlying modern AI & ML approaches and systems. It covers both the mathematical background as well as programming.
Competencies, Knowledge, or Skills to be Achieved:
Upon completing the minor in AL & ML, students will be able to:
- Develop AL & ML approaches for complex real-world problems.
- Use a broad range of AL & ML tools, techniques, and algorithms.
- Apply AL & ML tools in an ethical and socially responsible manner, with an awareness of biases that can result from their indiscriminate use.
- Communicate results of complex analyses using appropriate visualization techniques.
- Be well versed with the Python programming language and all the key packages for AI and ML such as NumPy, pandas, Scikit-Learn, SciPy, MatplotLib, Tensorflow, Keras, spaCy, NLTK, Gensim, etc.
