NURS 450 - Professional Nursing Practice

Credit Hours: 4

Prerequisites: NURS 405 , NURS 415  
Corequisite: NURS 404  

Students will work in a precepted environment to solidify nursing knowledge, clinical acumen, critical thinking and decision making.  Clinical experiences will incorporate ethical reasoning, prioritization of care, quality and safety, interdisciplinary teamwork, and communication in the provision of patient and family centered care. Students may leverage mentorship relationships to better understand the social, political and financial forces that impact healthcare. The lecture component of the course focuses on concepts related to professional nursing practice.
