CRMJ 311 - Human Trafficking


Credit Hours: 3

This course is designed to give students a comprehensive overview of human trafficking. We will begin by briefly covering the basics of human trafficking and debunking many myths associated with this global phenomenon. Then, we will explore the many types, including sex, labor, organ trafficking, child soldiers, and forced/child marriage. Others topics include the victim experience, the perpetrators, and responses to human trafficking, such as law enforcement, legal, and non-government organizations. This course will be based on current criminological research, both quantitative and qualitative, and incorporate many guest speakers including victims and front-line workers who combat human trafficking.
