CSCI 350 - Introduction to Data Mining Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisites: CSCI 205 or CSCI 202 and STAT 160 or STAT 261 Data mining is the process of automatically finding useful hidden patterns in data. The objective of data mining is to use discovered patterns to help explain current behaviors or to predict future outcomes. The knowledge discovery process includes data selection, cleaning, coding, using different statistical and machine learning techniques, and visualization of the generated structures. This course will expose students to data mining concepts, techniques and software utilized in the overall process of discovering knowledge within data.
