AERO 301 - Leading People and Effective Communication

Leading People and Effective Communication, a course for contracted cadets only, utilizes student’s field training experience to take a more in-depth look at leadership. Special emphasis is placed on enhancing communication skills, and why that is important as a leader. Classes will cover DAF writing requirements, establishing expectations and providing feedback, DAF’s evaluation system, and ways to inspire action. Communication skills are further developed through oral and written presentations. Students have an opportunity to try out these leadership and management techniques in a supervised environment as juniors in AFROTC’s mandatory Leadership Laboratory. Registration for AERO 450 (Leadership Laboratory) is mandatory for cadets pursuing an Air Force or Space Force contract and compliments this course by providing cadets with followership & initial leadership experiences.
