The Neuroscience Concentration, housed within the Department of Psychology, takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the structure and function of the brain and nervous system. This rigorous and academically challenging concentration focuses on many aspects of the human experience from a molecular and neural basis and explores topics such as the biological underpinnings of memory, learning, attention and concentration, executive functioning, mood, and abnormal behaviors. The concentration prepares students for post-baccalaureate professional programs in health care professions and graduate studies in cognitive neuroscience or psychology.

In addition, the Neuroscience Concentration

• Provides a foundation for understanding of the molecular, cellular, and neural networks that are the basis of the human experience
• Trains students in interdisciplinary approaches to study the biological and psychological aspects of human behavior
• Prepares students for graduate programs in health professions, medicine, cognitive neuroscience and psychology

Student Learning Outcomes

2. Students will demonstrate the ability to read, evaluate, and apply scientific literature in the domain of neuroscience.
