Mission

The mission of B.S. in Computer Science program with a concentration in Cybersecurity is to educate and train the students on Cyber Skillset that are needed by the industry and government agencies to prevent, detect, and mitigate cyber-attacks in different systems. Students will take classes in Computer Networks, Computer Security, and Advanced Cybersecurity.

Target Audience

Students who are interested in pursuing a career as an Information Security Analyst, Penetration Tester, and Security Engineer or as a Cyber Incident Responder in the Industry or Government Agencies need to select this concentration.

Within five years of graduation, alumni of the B.S. program in Computer science should be:

• Conducting successful career in computer science disciplines and/or pursuing graduate study in computer science.
• Demonstrating life-long learning skills and adapting to emerging markets and technologies.
• Embracing high personal and professional standards of conduct, citizenship, and service.

Graduates of the program will have an ability to:

• Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
• Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
• Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
• Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
• Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline.
• Apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions.
